Supriya Kharod is a contemporary watercolor artist who paints both semi-abstract and figurative works. Her paintings have a colorful and highly-stylized vibe, reflecting her graphic design background. Her favorite subjects are the Texas landscape, the “weird” city of Austin, and her country-of-origin India. She paints and sketches on location, as well as in her home studio.

Sketchbook

The sketchbook is the soul and the mind of an artist exposed. It is relaxed and, because of that, becomes a perfect laboratory for experimentation. Each sketch comes alive because of the artist’s personal experience, emotions, and memories of that moment.  And so, the sketchbook contains a visual story of the artist’s journey of wonder, hope, struggle, reflection, frustration, growth, confidence, and transformation. I always carry a small sketchbook, pen, and sometimes even a small painting kit in my bag for when an opportunity arises.
