Traversing the Western Ghats

The "ghats" are the hill country of Western India. This painting is of my childhood memory of traveling long distances by train from one city to another, during the monsoon season:
The terrain was lush and hilly, and the train stopped at a rustic "hill station" at high elevation, where daily commuters awaited. The air was cool and crisp and the rain intensified the colors and fresh smell of the land.
