The client wanted an abstract depiction of the natural world. After that, she left it up to my artistic vision. My inspiration was her backyard with its variety of plants and wildflowers. I also included her sweet dog, who trots around as a proud princess over her domain.
This painting is a large-format watercolor—over twice the size of a standard, full-sheet. Since I like to paint flat, I had to spread out on the floor and get a bit creative at times with the process.
